Real Hero's To See   May God Bless.  These Men.   I  Thought this was very interesting....And You Would Never Guess!! Captain Kangaroo passed away on January 23, 2004 as age 76, which is odd, because he always looked to be 76.   His date Of Birth: June 27, 1927 His death reminded me of the following story. Some people have been a bit offended that the Hollywood actor, Lee Marvin, is buried in a grave alongside 3 and 4 star generals at Arlington National Cemetery. His marker gives his name, rank (PVT) and service (USMC). Nothing else. Here's a guy who was only a famous movie star who served his time, why the heck does he rate burial with these guys???

Well, following is the amazing answer
: I always liked Lee Marvin, but didn't know the extent of his Corps experiences, In a time when many Hollywood stars served their country in the armed forces often in rear echelon posts where they were carefully protected, only to be trotted  out to perform for the cameras in war bond promotions, Lee Marvin was a genuine hero. He won the Navy Cross at Iwo Jima. There is only one higher Naval award... ? the Medal Of Honor. If that is a surprising comment on the true character of the man, he Credits his sergeant with an even greater show of bravery.
Dialog from "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson": His guest was Lee Marvin.
Johnny said, "Lee
, I'll bet a lot of people are unaware that you were a Marine in the initial landing at Iwo Jima...and that during the course of that action you earned the Navy Cross and were severely wounded."
Lee said: "Yeah, yeah... I got shot square in the bottom and they gave me the Cross for securing a hot spot about halfway up Suribachi.                         (Thousands died there that day.)

62 Years ago "Today February 23, 2007  Thousands died there that day.
Bad thing about getting shot up on a mountain is guys getting' shot hauling you down.
But, Johnny, at Iwo I served under the bravest man I ever knew... We both got the cross the same day, but what he did for his Cross made mine look cheap in comparison.
That dumb guy actually stood up on Red beach and directed his troops to Move forward and get the hell off the beach. Bullets flying by, with mortar rounds landing everywhere and he stood there as the main target of gunfire so that he could get his men to safety.
62 Years ago today 2/ 23/ 2007
He did this on more than one occasion because his men's safety was more important than his own life.
That Sergeant and I have been lifelong friends. When they brought me off Suribachi we passed the Sergeant and he lit a smoke and passed it to me, lying on my belly on the litter and said, where'd they get you Lee' Well Bob... if you make it home before me, tell Mom to sell the outhouse!"
Johnny, I'm not lying, Sergeant Keeshan was the bravest man I ever knew. The Sergeant's name is Bob Keeshan.

You and the world know him as Captain Kangaroo."

On another note, there was this wimpy little man (who just passed away) on PBS, gentle and quiet. Mr. Rogers is another of those you would least suspect of being anything but what he now portrays to our youth. But Mr. Rogers was a U.S. Navy Seal, combat-proven in Vietnam with over (over) twenty-five (25) confirmed kills to
      his name
Gentle Mr. Rogers
   Hi there Mr. Rogers
He wore a long-sleeved sweater on TV, to cover the many tattoos on his forearm and biceps. He was a master in small arms and hand -to-hand combat, able to disarm or kill in a heartbeat. After the war Mr. Rogers became an ordained Presbyterian minister and therefore a pacifist.  Vowing to never harm another human and also dedicating the rest of his life to trying to help lead children on the right path in life. He hid away the tattoos and his past life and won our hearts with his quiet wit and charm.
America's real heroes don't flaunt what they did; they quietly go about their day-to-day lives, doing what they do best. They earned our respect and the freedoms that we all enjoy. Look around and see if you can find one of those heroes in your midst.
Often, they are the ones you'd least suspect, but would most like to have on your side if anything ever happened.
Take the time to thank anyone that has fought for our freedom.
With Encouragement they could be the next Captain Kangaroo or Mr. Rogers.  Hero’s are
just ordinary good men who do what needs to be done, when everyone else is too scared.

So what really makes a hero?  Do you have the guts to do what is right? God is watching you !

A Great American who speaks his mind, just like millions of us think. Hurray for Andy Rooney on CBS,
 60 Minutes Sunday evenings
. Rooney is known to millions for his wry, humorous and sometimes controversial essays that have been the signature end piece of 60 Minutes for decades.
The 2006-07 season marks Rooney's 29th doing these unique reports
, Andy Rooney on "60 Minutes" a few weeks back he said this:
“ I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America; and see what happens...Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.

Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game. I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, that is why there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA BURKE?

I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is an opinion.
I have the right "NOT" to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off.   When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling; it is the Law of Probability.

I believe that if you are selling me a milkshake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English!
As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak English!  My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours.
I think the police should have every right to shoot your sorry ass if you threaten them after they tell you to stop.
If you can't understand the word  "freeze" or "stop" in English, see the above lines.

I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business. We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations.

I don't hate the rich I don't pity the poor I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn't stop you from watching them.
I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better, and put your name on the building.  It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say "NO!"
I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement.
And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me French fries!
I am sick of "Political Correctness." I know a lot of black people, and not single one of them was born in Africa; so how can they be "African-Americans"? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go around saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe. I am proud to be from America and nowhere else. And if you don't like my point of view, tough...I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG, OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND TO THE REPUBLIC, FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!”   (Way to Go Andy. Notice that he said a "Republic" and not some Democracy. We are loosing our "Republic.")

NEW YORK - Andy Rooney has never been shy about his opinions, but now he’s being bedeviled by somebody else’s words being circulated under his name.
Rooney said on Tuesday that a racist commentary falsely attributed to him is circulating over the Internet and through e-mails. The “60 Minutes” essayist wants anyone who might have seen it to know he had nothing to do with it.
“I suppose it’s not important, but I hate the fact that people think I’ve been writing these things,” he told The Associated Press. “That’s hurtful to me.”

So I ask you to send on this email that I received to your friends if you agree; or delete it if you don't. It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God. Therefore I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a problem in having "In God We Trust" on our money and having "God" in the Pledge of Allegiance. Why don't we just tell the 14% to Shut Up and BE QUIET!!!   People mis-quote me the Parowan Prophet to make some point. Just come to my site to see what I have said myself. I leave my mis-takes on the web for everyone to see. I answer to God, not you.
If you agree, pass this on in your emails, if you don’t agree just delete it.  You don’t realize the “Latin” word for “black” is what?
Lawyers use “Latin” in court. Any well educated person understands what a “short” vowel is. The “Latin” word for “black” is “Niger.”   ----  The "N" word that gutless honkies are afraid to say. "Niger"-"Niger" you black "Niger."
If it had a “long Vowel” it would be like the African country of “Nigeria”. Even though there are black Niger’s in Nigeria.
Why should any educated person have to lower his language to speak to the un-educated? We should speak the truth. Niger’s are blacks.
Why be ashamed of your education?
If you don’t believe me, then call some good University where they teach “Latin” and ask for yourself, you ignoramus.  Just because you want to be a damned fool, I don't have to be.

I am speaking to the black nigers now.
And everyone else too smart to learn from a Prophet.
